Adding a CPIR

CPIR lifecycle

When a CPIR is raised, it is assigned to a user, group, or branch responsible for completing it. If it’s assigned to a user, that person will be responsible for completing it. If it’s assigned to a group, the group leader will be responsible for completing it. If it’s assigned to a branch, the branch manager will be responsible for completing it.

Once the CPIR is completed, all required fields must be filled out and the ‘closed out’ toggle must be switched on. At this point, the person who raised the CPIR will be asked to approve it. If the CPIR has not been completed to their satisfaction, the user who raised it can ask the person who filled it out to redo it. This process ensures that all CPIRs are completed to the satisfaction of the person who raised them.

Who can view CPIRs

The rules for viewing CPIRs are as follows:

  • Anyone can view a CPIR if it is classified as Medium or Low Risk.
  • If you are either the person who raised the CPIR or the person to whom it was raised, you have viewing access.
  • The person responsible for approving the CPIR is permitted to view it.
  • Members of the job associated with the CPIR are allowed to view it.
  • If you are an administrator or a member of the ‘Safety’ group, you can view the CPIR.”
