Recurring Jobs

Recurring jobs allow project managers to create jobs that automatically get created at a specified cadence. This can be useful for tasks that need to be completed on a regular basis, such as weekly or monthly reports. By creating a recurring job, project managers can ensure that tasks are completed on time and reduce the likelihood of them being overlooked.

To create a recurring job, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the project you wish to create a recurring job for.
  2. Click the ‘Jobs’ tab.
  3. Click ‘Recurring Jobs’
  4. Fill the form, including to specify a frequency (how often you’d like it to be created) and the units (day, month, year, etc). and click ‘Save’.

Recurring Job Fields

Job Manager: The person to whom new jobs will be assigned once they are created.

Length of Job: The estimated time required to complete each individual job.

Frequency: The interval at which a job will be created. This can be set in days, weeks, months or years.

Start Date: This will be the day that the first job in the series will be created.

Repetitions: The total number of times a job will be created within the specified start and end dates or according to the set frequency.

Create Job Before/After Job Date: When enabled, this toggle allows you to specify how much time before or after the start date the job should be created. For instance, to create a job 1 week before the start date, set the “create before” field to 1 and the “create units” field to “week.”

You can also specify which days of the week the job should be created or exclude weekends altogether. This can be useful for jobs that only need to be completed on weekdays, or for projects where weekend work is not required.

Once a recurring job is created, regular jobs will be automatically generated on the specified cadence. Project managers can then reassign the job to a staff member and add any necessary deliverables or notes.
