Journals

Journals allow users to record manual financial entries in the system. This includes importing journals from Employment Hero, creating recurring entries, and duplicating existing journals where needed.

Accessing Journals

You can access the Journals register differently depending on your role:

Administrators: Go to ORGANISATIONManual Journals.

Accounts Users: Go to REGISTERSJournals.


Creating Journals

To create a new journal entry, click the icon located on the right-hand side of the search bar.


Importing a Journal from Employment Hero

You can import journals directly from Employment Hero by selecting a pay run.

When you choose a pay run, all associated journal lines from that pay run will be automatically pulled into the journal.

An account and branch will then need to be associated to each line.


Duplicating a Journal

To duplicate an existing journal, click the Copy button in the top-right corner of the journal screen.

The duplicated journal can then be edited before saving.


Repeating Journals

To create a repeating journal, click the Repeating Journals button.

Repeating journals work like standard journals, but include additional settings that allow you to automate their creation. You can set:

  • Frequency units: Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly
  • Start date and End date

The journal will automatically be recreated on the specified schedule between those dates.


Deleting a Journal

From the Journals register, locate the journal you want to remove and click the trash can icon on the right-hand side of its row.
