Profit and Loss Dashboard

Estimated reading: 2 minutes 47 views

The Profit and Loss Dashboard provides a breakdown of revenue and expenditure for a selected period. It’s designed to help you assess how your branch, division or tracking site performed compared to budget and to the same period last year.

Navigating to the Dashboard

Go to:
Dashboards > Profit and Loss

The Profit and Loss dashboard is split into two sections: Period to Date and Year to Date. The Period to Date table shows results for the selected month, quarter or year. The Year to Date table displays the same information but totals it across the current financial year.

Selecting a Filter

You can filter by:

  • Division
  • Tracking Site
  • Branch

This lets you focus the report on the area you’re interested in.

Selecting a Period

Use the Period selector at the top of the screen to choose:

  • Monthly, Quarterly, or Yearly view
  • A specific time period (e.g. April 2025)

By default, the dashboard loads the most recent full month.

Understanding the Report

Each section of the report allows you to drill into the details by clicking on figures.

Revenue

Shows the total income for the selected period.

  • Click the total to see a breakdown by account.
  • Click an account to see the list of invoices.
  • You can download individual invoices or view any journals linked to the revenue:
  • In the pop-up, use the tabs to switch between purchases, journals and expense claims related to the selected account:

Additional columns:

  • Budgeted: What was forecasted for the period.
  • Variance: The difference between budget and actual.
  • Variance %: The percentage difference.
  • Last Year: Actuals from the same period last year.
  • Variance from Last Year: Difference and percentage change.
