Forecasting

Estimated reading: 2 minutes 24 views

If you’re a branch manager, a pop-up will appear on your dashboard every Monday prompting you to complete a weekly forecast. If you manage multiple branches, you’ll see a separate forecast for each one.

You can also access forecasts by going to Registers → Branches, selecting the desired branch, then clicking Weekly Forecasts. Click the Previous Forecasts sub-tab to view past forecasts, or click Add Forecast to create a new one:

The Forecast Dashboard

Forecasted Revenue: displays the most recent weekly forecasted revenue entered for this branch.

Full Time Headcount: the number of full time staff at this branch.

Budgeted Revenue: the Total Revenue from the displayed month’s budget.

Debt Over 90 Days: the total value of invoices where the due date more than 90 days old. Hover over the total to view a breakdown of the individual invoices.
The tile also shows what percentage these invoices make up of the total debt.

Unpaid Invoices: the total value of all outstanding invoices that haven’t been paid. Hover over the total to view a breakdown of individual invoices.

DSO (Days Sales Outstanding): the average number of days it takes to collect payment after a sale. A lower DSO indicates faster payment collection. Hover over the total to see a monthly trend.

Entering your Weekly Forecast Values

Fill in the following fields to complete the weekly forecast:

Revenue: expected income for the forecast period.

Change in Wages: note any planned increases or reductions in staffing.

Recruitment Fees: estimated costs related to hiring new staff.

Subcontractor Costs: expected expenses for subcontracted work.

Other Costs: any additional costs not covered above.

Comments: e.g. specify what type of staff are needed for particular projects.

Switching to Other Branches That Need to Be Filled

If you’re a branch manager for multiple branches, a bar will appear on Monday (when forecasts are due) allowing you to easily switch between branches that still need to be completed:

Submitting Your Branch’s Forecast

Once you’ve completed the forecast, click Save at the bottom of the page. This will send it to the branch manager’s manager for approval or revision.
